What Do I Do?

Good question! I get asked this all the time, especially from people that I recently meet and start to know better. I like to call myself an entrepreneur. Just because I love many different things and because of that have started many businesses. I know this will always change but, as of now, this is what I do. Professionally and personally, I guess I wear many hats. But that’s because I love to learn new things, experience new things, and enjoy life. Can you blame me?!

Let’s just talk professionally here.

I’m a wedding and event planner. I own my company, Daydreamer Events, and it is in its 5th year of existence. I’ve planned weddings and events all over LA/OC and Hawaii but hope to do events in different areas as well.

I co-own a company with my fiance called Inked Print and Graphics. We started the company in 2007 and do all kinds of graphic design, print, and business solutions. We started this business to continue to express our love for graphic design post-college. Since its inception, we’ve gained a a list of regular customers while still meeting new ones. The thing I love about graphic design so much is there’s more to it than people think. People think that anyone can do it but it takes skill and a keen eye to have good design, in anything.

I help run and manage my family’s bakery called Ninong’s Pastries and Cafe. This is definitely one of my biggest achievements to date. When the economy took a turn for the worse, my family took a chance on what we love to do: bake and cook. We are beginning to grow (and are still growing) into a running force in our area. I’m so proud of my family for believing in what we have to offer and taking a big risk despite everything going on around us.

I am also a student, a student of God and a student of education. When I graduated from college in ‘05 I never thought I’d go back. I learn something new every day and before my return to education, I felt like I was beginning to hit a stand still. It took me almost 2 years to decide to return just to get some classes under my belt, but I’m so glad I did it. Why is this such a big deal to me? Because it was such a big change, and I’m afraid of change. But this experience is helping me to learn that change is nothing to be afraid of. Actually, it’s something that can make you stronger. As long as you take as much as you can out of the experience. I’m starting to see that God has a way of helping me to see what I need to do to achieve the goals I set for myself. He is truly good.

I’m experiencing life in a whole new way. Thanks to every one I meet, the people that have come and gone, and the people that stay in my life, I’m changing for the better. I’m learning to break free from my boundaries and ready to run head first into the future! :)
